30 Aug RPA + AI + Cloud for Africa
I was in Southern Africa recently, with a financial services company, planning the deployment of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) plus Artificial Intelligence (AI), delivered over the Cloud, using Thoughtonomy’s Intelligent Automation platform. What a joy. Thoughtonomy is based on Blue Prism RPA but adds AI to enable human/robot interactions and to convert unstructured data into digital triggers for execution in RPA. It also uses Machine Learning to orchestrate Virtual Workers and continuously improve productivity. With knowledge of such breadth of capability, we targeted a core business process for re-engineering, from end-to-end, in order to significantly improve its performance by leveraging Intelligent Automation. We also identified a whole bunch of manual processes that will be easy to automate. Most interestingly, we recognised an opportunity to handle reporting in-house – rather than source information and reports from the international parent company – by giving their own bots access to data held on the parent’s systems. This will give them more local control, will increase their responsiveness and will reduce the cost of procuring services through SLAs. The Cloud aspect too, is a dream. The company has a relatively small IT department and limited budget for infrastructure development. Delivering Intelligent Automation over the Cloud, however, obviates much of the time and cost required to build the IT environment needed to support RPA internally and is infinitely scalable, both up and down. In DigiBlu, we love Blue Prism and will continue to use it for implementing and operating Digital Workforces at enterprise-scale for corporates, but for smaller businesses, and especially across Africa, we see huge opportunity with Thoughtonomy, which, because it is delivered over the Cloud, we can also implement and operate remotely. Talk to DigiBlu if you are interested in exploring the power of RPA + AI + Cloud.
